How to make a tier list with pictures
Upload your own images, keep them tidy and export a polished picture tier list.
Updated
Pictures make tier lists instantly readable. Here’s how to build a picture tier list in our free tier list maker — and how to make it look great.
Step 1: Add your images
- Open the tier list maker and scroll to the item pool below the board.
- Press Images and choose one or more pictures — or drag image files straight onto the pool.
- Each image becomes a square tile, labelled with its file name.
Your images never leave your device. They’re resized in your browser and saved there, so your list is still there when you come back.
Step 2: Name your files first
Tiles use the file name as a caption, so rename files before uploading: pizza.png reads much better than IMG_2041.png.
Step 3: Use square, centred images
Every tile is a square, and images are cropped to fill it. For the best results:
- crop images to a square before uploading;
- keep the subject in the centre;
- use a consistent style — all photos, all screenshots, or all illustrations.
Step 4: Rank and polish
Drag images into tiers just like text items — or tap an image, then tap a tier on a phone. Mix images with text and emoji items freely.
Step 5: Export
Press Export PNG to download a high-resolution image with your pictures in place. Note that share links contain text items only — images stay private on your device, so export a PNG to share a picture tier list. See exporting and sharing.
Respect image rights
Only use images you’re allowed to use: your own photos, public-domain images, or pictures you have permission to share. Our templates use names only for this reason — you can add your own images to any of them.
