How to Run a Tier List Segment on Your Stream
Tier lists make great live content. How to run a tier list segment on Twitch or YouTube: picking topics, involving chat, pacing and exporting the result.
By Tier List Maker Team ·
Tier lists are one of the easiest segments to run live: the format is instantly understandable, every placement is a talking point, and chat always disagrees.
Pick a topic chat knows
Choose something your community has strong opinions about — the game you play most, its characters or maps, or a community in-joke. Our templates load full rosters in one click, so you don’t waste airtime typing.
Set up your screen
- Use a dark browser window and zoom so the board fills the capture area.
- Keep the item pool visible so viewers can see what’s coming.
- Rename the title to something like “Chat decides: Season 6 heroes”.
Involve chat
- Poll each item: read it out, run a quick poll, then place it where chat lands.
- Streamer veto: you get three vetoes per stream. Use them wisely.
- Random mode: use the random tier list generator to roll a surprise topic.
Pace it
Aim for about a minute per item. If chat is split, park the item in the pool and come back to it at the end.
Share the result
